Emergency Kits for Natural Disasters

First aid kits, or emergency kits, are important to have. We shouldn’t wait till the last minute to put them together. Every business and home should have one accessible. Natural disasters can happen suddenly, and you may have to pick up and go at the drop of a hat. Below are examples of what to include in your emergency kit.
What to Include in a first aid kit for a group of 2 to 3 people
- Gloves
- Adhesive bandages
- Gauze pads: small & large
- Roll of gauze bandages
- Equipment for resuscitation
- Splint
- Towelettes to clean wounds
- Scissors
- Tweezers
- Blanket: minimum of one
- At least two elastic wraps
- Adhesive tape
The list above is intended only for small groups of people, for larger families and groups be sure to adjust the number of supplies needed.
To be on the safe side, it is always a good idea to have more than one kit in a place of business or home. Make sure the kits are in a location that are easily accessible, and several people know the location of the kits. An important note is to always remember to replace any items used as soon as possible after use.
